Looks fantastic. Not sure about the villain though (not the actor, but in terms of how similar he looks suited up and how CGI-ey their fight might end up looking).

Still though, that's a hell of a trailer and BP was fantastic in Civil War, so I'm hyped.

Thor Ragnarok End Scene Spoilers and possibly IW link up:
The 1st end credit scene sees Thor and Loki on the spaceship with all the Asgardians and a large ship comes into focus, it is most likely the ship with Thanos on it(looks like a Kree type ship) and Loki possibly has the Tesseract in his possession

Somehow Thor ends out in space and lands on the Milano in the Infinity War teaser, which was mostlk likely following Thanos ship.

I'm hoping (or guessing) Loki manages to save the Asgardians and get them away using the Tessaract while Thor tries to fight off or stall Thanos/his henchmen. That's how he ends up floating in space. Be a real shame if the Asgardians are just blasted and killed after Thor saving them in Ragnarok. The leaked trailer for Infinity War also had Thor with both eyes, so I imagine they're going to CGI the eyepatch on him. They did well keeping it as a surprise, as even some of the shots of him in the trailers for Ragnarok had him with two eyes even after he lost his eye in the film.

Anyway, Thor Ragnarok is amazing. As I said in the Films forum, it's as much fun as Guardians of the Galaxy 1, while still staying true to the spirit of the first Thor film. I thought it was utterly brilliant.

21st Century Fox have been holding talks to sell most of its company to Disney. Still early days and both companies aren’t talking yet but impact to the MCU is huge if it does happen.

I'm surprised Disney haven't decided to screen it with Star Wars.

I'm surprised Disney haven't decided to screen it with Star Wars.

You'd think they'd hold out until then. But maybe the screenshot and audio-less leaks from the film forced their hand..

Spider-Man leaked it on his Instragram.

    Glorious.
I remember collecting comics back in the 80's and 90's, I never would have dreamed that they would be brought to life on the big screen in such a fantastic way.

Advance ticket sales for Black Panther have beaten those of Civil War. This could easily be one of Marvel's biggest financial successes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,542 ✭✭✭IncognitoMan

Wow. If it's as good as it looks it could pull in some serious numbers so.

Probably no competition around it for weeks either side as well.

Black Widow : Blacklist Alum Jac Schaeffer to Write Marvel Movie
Marvel Studios has picked Blacklist Screenwriter Jac Schaeffer to write “Black Widow,” the first solo film featuring the marvel superhero played since 2010 by Scarlett Johansson, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Schaeffer made her feature screenwriting debut with the 2009 Tribeca film “TiMER,” which she also directed. She wrote the 2014 Blacklist pick “The Shower,” a female-centric sci-fi action comedy with Anne Hathaway attached to star and produce, as well as “Nasty Women,” a remake of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” at MGM set to star Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. Schaeffer most recently penned the Disney short “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” which played before screenings of Pixar’s “Coco.”

Black Widow first debuted in 2010’s “Iron Man 2” and since then has appeared in both “Avengers” films as well as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War.” She’ll also be seen in this year’s “Avengers: Infinity War.” Interest in a standalone outing for the character has consistently been high, with a 2016 Fandago poll finding “Black Widow” the top pick for the Avenger fans most want to see in a solo film.

“Black Widow” boosters also note Johansson’s high box office draw outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with her 2014 action hit “Lucy” earning almost $500 million worldwide.

Marvel hasn’t set a date for a Black Widow film just yet. The studio has a full slate of projects dated through 2019, ending with “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2,” which is also likely to feature Black Widow. But Marvel chief Kevin Feige said in 2016 that the studio and parent company Disney are “committing” to giving the character her own movie and possible franchise.

Talking to TheWrap in 2016, “Captain America: Civil War” screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus broke down the character’s arc in the MCU, saying that her “journey, over her various appearances, is one coming out of the shadows and into the light.”

Way past overdue IMO, and given Marvels tactic of riffing on genres I imagine any Black Widow film would be a high-tech, set piece driven LeCarré movie. It'd almost be the perfect vehicle to bring SHIELD back into the mix.

First look at Brie Larson in the suit for Captain Marvel movie

    26903981_700592043662451_6182558412333717846_n.jpg?oh=fce9645997bfc309f79890a77986b439&oe=5ADE454F

The movie had started filming this week, but will resume filming again in March due to some law in California regarding shooting films, as explained below.
But this only a temporary week of shooting, as filming on the Marvel Studios movie will go on hiatus until March.

Now the question is, why the two-month gap?

The sleuths over at MCU Exchange did some digging on the reason why, following up on their scoop from November that such a break would even take place. It turns out there's a very valid reason for this short week of shooting, and it has to do with financials and tax breaks.

With Kevin Feige taking a production back to Los Angeles for the first time since Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios through company Warbird Productions LLC took advantage of the California Film Commission's (CFC) Tax Break 2.0, granting them over $20 million in tax credits in July 2017.

When MCU Exchange did some digging on the CFC's guidelines, they learned that one of the stipulations for Tax Break 2.0 dictated that a production receiving the credits must begin within 180 days after being issued, lest that money gets forfeited. And since we're now just about six months removed from that issue date, Marvel Studios had to start filming without the full crew assembled.

But the calendar requirements for the tax credits also state a production can go on a planned hiatus for 120 days after filming begins, hence the delay until March when the full cast and crew are set to join the production.

    28. Daredevil (season 2, eps 1-4)
    29. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 1-4)
    30. Daredevil (season 2, eps 5-11)
    31. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 5-8)
    32. Daredevil (season 2, eps 12-13)
    33. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 9-13)

Why the split between Daredevil S2 and Luke Cage? I can't remember anything to suggest they were happening at the same time, and in fact I would have thought Rosario Dawson in both would have shown that they weren't. I would have went full Daredevil S2, then Luke Cage S1.
