Joe McNicholas: An Irish Political Allegory

The Cork School of Music has directed artist Joe McNicholas to remove his picture "An Irish Political Allegory" from a wall in the school. The reason for the censorship has been given by its authority as the unsuitability of the picture given that children may be exposed. No alternative siting of the picture was suggested or offered, lending credence to the claim (or indeed public outcry) that the real reason for the picture's removal is the fact that it portrays some Irish political figures in an unfavourable light.
