Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey guys so it looks like a third cat had adopted us.we have 2 five mth old kittens and this new cats showed up the last few days.
now our cats are farm cats and v friendly just not left in the house. This cat seems really friendly as well and at some point must have belonged to someone.so two qs-firstly should I be worried the cat will attack the kittens?not sure if it's a male of female I'll check tomorrow. Our last cat hated competition.
secondly we are getting our pair netured in the next few weeks.the vet was out (unrelated)and said they were old enough.how can I check if this cats already neutered as we would get all three done together?is there a scar left?
We don't mind having a third cat as no probs feeding it and it'll keep the mice away.
    Thanks everyone ðŸ˜႒

others on here will be able to advise you better than me but I think they just nick a little bit of the ear

I do know the tnr people do the above with ferals incase they are trapped the second time

anyway good on you for offering the little guy a home and groceries

It'd be unlikely for an adult cat to attack kittens, but it's worth monitoring early interaction anyway.

On neutering, practically impossible to tell with a female unless the ear was tipped. But if the cat was someone's they might be microchipped?

This is mainly done for ferals who are let back out to their colonies again; for private cats this would normally not be the case and we've had cats brought in for neutering, opened up only to find out they were already done...

Hence OP there is no real way of knowing short of bringing your new cat into the vet and see if they can spot it.
