Owning a diesel for the first time

Hi all, I just got my first diesel car.. i've had 3/4 petrol before this.. Is there anything I need to know or should be doing differently ? Before anyone says it I know the fuel is different :D Do they require servicing more / less / same amount ? thanks.

Still, the glow plugs will run on a cold start after the engine has been started for emission reduction purposes. You can test this out by connecting a 12V light bulb to the glow plug wiring.

I timed it a long time ago and they were running for around 3 minutes after the engine start
