The undisputed game of the day sees 9th take on 8th, and the fact it isn't televised is a disgrace!

Lucas or Stewart are in line to return from injury today and with Can suspended and Henderson injured one of them will likely start. An alternative is to start Lallana or Coutinho deeper than normal. Sturridge should start ahead of Origi. It'll be interesting to see if Thursday nights excursions take the zip out of a Liverpool side who have mostly played quite well recently (2nd half at Southampton excepted) and if Stoke can repeat their win earlier in the season here in the capital one cup.

I reckon a nervy enough 2-1 home win.

Starting 11 should be interesting with Thursday on the horizon. I would like to see at least 3 or 4 youngsters start and another few come on as subs. As a result a tight game with a winner to be scored in the last 10. 2-1 home win would be nice.

Stoke are strong from setpieces and LFC are rubbish from them. With one eye on Europe, I feel this game is not top priority for players. 2-1 Stoke with both their goals from corners/free kicks.

Will Stoke play a team like they did at Anfield in the Cup with Crouch and Walters or one that we coped with much better full of their more technical players? I hope the latter.

If we are playing a few younger/fringe players Ojo would be my first choice of them to see him in a proper game. Skrtel/Toure/Ibe/Flanagan/Smith/Sinclair might be in contention as well. Surely Enrique/Ilori won't though. A team like this would be interesting:
