Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do we need a motivational thread, for people to post their woes, achievements and seek support to stay on track? To start, I am aiming to lose weight and run a marathon in October. I've lost 1.5 stone since January, but there is somethings I can't seem to give up, such as sugary drinks, the occasional junk food and nicotine.

I can't become truly healthy until I give up on the unhealthy foods and drink, while upping my training. I also need to eat healthier in the meantime. Anyone else have any stories to share regarding your quest for good health?

Have you tried replacing the sugary drinks with another type of 'treat' that's actually beneficial?

I adore shakes made from milk, peanut butter, oats and banana. I could drink them all day long, but instead I think of it as a treat and look forward to it every evening.

It doesn't have to be a shake for you, but just try find something that you really enjoy (and is healthy) and that you can use to bribe yourself into avoiding crap during the day.

Another one I enjoy is a nice generous helping of Greek yogurt, with melted peanut butter, banana and a sprinkling of oats and seeds. One of those in the morning and I feel like I've had my guilty pleasure for the day.
