VRT inspection delay

    Hi there,

    I just bought an Audi A5 from the north.

    I'm just trying to arrange the VRT inspection. There seems to be a delay, so if I register for the inspection on May 1st (which is the closest appointment thats convenient)

    1) Will the Motor tax due be backdated to today, or payable from May

    2) Will the fact that I've booked the inspection satisfy Customs and Guards if stopped?

    The motor tax will only be due from the date of first Irish registration.

    Maybe try ringing the NCT to get a closer date or cancellation otherwise carry proof that it's booked in for an inspection.

    Ok Thanks, have a date that is 2 weeks from now. Will have to pretend from be british till then :)
