    Hi

Have a friend who has a baby that is 3 months old. The lactation consultant told her the baby has Tongue tie.

And now she is going to a DENTIST on Friday to get it sorted.

Does this sound weird that a dentist would do this procedure ?

Completely normal. ENTs, dentists, Gp's and a plastic surgeon as far as I know all do tongue ties in this country. When you think about it it's all to with the mouth... In Kerry the only one doing them is a paediatric dentist.

And far far better off doing them now. I have a 3.5 year old possibly facing a general anaesthetic to get hers snipped.

A dental surgeon sorted our little girls lip and tongue tie with laser when she was 11 weeks old There is one surgeon in Cork who does it in the hospital but he was on holidays and there was a backlog so we ended up going to this guy in Tullamore.
