Rear Thru-axle - how to fit kids trailer bracket?

    I have a MTB with rear thru-axle x12 or whatever the standard is.

    It's a quick release mount like that:

    Diameter 12mm.

    My kids trailer bracket is something like that:

    Now, as axle is 12mm diameter, and hole in trailer bracket was 11mm, I had to drill it through to make it suit 12mm.

    However now while it fits, I have a problem, because it requires extra space on the axle, and because of that axle doesn't screw fully into thread - only half way which IMO is not enough to keep it stable.

    On the axle it says 159mm.

    Is there anywhere I could buy one of those with lenght of around 165mm or so, so it would fit better?
