Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Beautiful finish as well. Looked odd live.

That was a 2 against 5 and Dortmund still ended up scoring from it.

This partly shows the advantage playing away from home in the second leg is.

Just losing to a better team. There's no shame in this lads. Dortmund are a top 5 team in Europe.

Sakho at fault for both goals

That's game over. Sakho's positioning on both goals could be criticised.

Firmino off and Sturridge on and go for the f*cking thing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

I think Klopp should not hang about and bring on Allen for the middle (drop Firmino) and drop Coutinho for Sturridge and play two up top.

Just turned on the game, looks like I missed a great start :)

It's a savage ball by Reus but does Sakho know what a defensive line is?

Sakho at fault for both goals

Can for me he has to win that ball before the pass. Too soft

It'll be settled in 90 mins now,Sturridge on ASAP please klopp.

Sakho at fault for both goals

Are you kidding?!?! The second one was just awesome forward play... and the first if anything its Lovren who comes out too far to cover... looking for a culprit when really its just two great goals. Kagawas pass was sensational for the first.

Dortmund are far too good not to have been in the Champions League this season. Best team we've played all season by a long way. At least 5 of their team id love to sign but their team is a class above right now

There'll be no repeat of Istanbul tonight.

That's because the match is being played in Liverpool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Far too open.
We needed to keep men behind ball and keep it 0-0. We had it won with tie at 1-1.
Can't believe how exposed we are at back. Line up all wrong like everyone thought before game.

How is that not a yellow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Ohhhhhh devastating! My lord what a start to this game, Dortmund are devastating and putting pay to some of the comments we saw after the game last week. This is stunning football.

I guess you need to cling to some team still in European competition eh?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,225 ✭✭✭Chardee MacDennis

could you imagine how much this team would have torn United apart, my stars.

United fans should be thanking us for not subjecting them to such an embarrassment... :P

What hope do we have when our players can't even consistently make simple passes

Don't think either were defended well to be fair. Especially the 2nd.

    Reality is hitting.

Dortmund are better than us. And we've players that just aren't good enough.

He was last defender for both goals and didn't step out both times

Have a sinking feeling they were toying with us in the first leg.

We haven't a clue how to stop Dortmund. Not a notion.

We've had our pants pulled down and been seen to unpleasantly here. Nothing left of us but regrets and the smell of german beer....

in fairness, if you're gonna go 2-0 down, best to do it with 80 minutes left.

Generally, bookies aren't daft. Dortmund were/are favourites for the competition, weren't they? They're a very, very good side.

We knew that. Klopp knew that. Which is why I don't understand a midfield two of Can and Milner behind that front four.

Hopefully we can get one back before half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,501 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Well at least we can get at them. No way they don't score again though, we'll need to score 4 to have any chance.

I'm here for beautiful, innovative teams and Tuchel's Dortmund more than fit the bill.

Last week may have been Liverpool's chance. While the 1-1 was a good result on paper they really should have won the game given all the chances they had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 728 ✭✭✭JIdontknow

For the second goal it seemed the defence stepped up but sakho back-pedalled instead, afraid of attacker getting a run on him, had he stepped up he was offside. Haven't seen replay again though (doing a Wenger on it!).

Hope we score next anyway to give the game itself more legs. Would be awful to peter out so early. It's so open there has to be more

    Milner does nothing

You can take some solace that Liverpool won the pre-match karaoke.
