Not entitled to Maternity Benefit

Hi all

Has any one else been in this situation?....
I am working now since last year and I am pregnant, going on maternity leave in July. However, I do not have sufficient number of stamps to be able to claim maternity benefit from the state. I have checked this with SW.

Is there any other source I can try to get some sort of money income while out on maternity leave? My job doesn't pay while on leave as it's within 2 years of starting.

If you have been working since last year then you should have enough stamps (39) before you go on maternity leave in July.

Unfortunately I only started work in December and just fall short of the 39 weeks required prior to start of maternity leave

Are you married, have any other kids - maybe Family Income Supplement?

Were you employed during 2013 and 2014? How long were you unemployed for?

No I am not married, no other kids.
And I was unemployed for summer 2013- dec 2015
