Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sulfate of Iron & Dogs

Was spreading Sulfate of Iron on my garden Saturday evening and in an act of stupidity forgot to put my dog inside. He ran onto the garden for about a minute and maybe sniffed the grass itself once or twice.

Fast forward to Saturday night and the dog had bad diarrhoea and scratched at the door to get out several times.

Throughout Sunday I kept his food at 0 and encouraged as much water as possible but the diarrhea persisted. Now this morning I found a black stool (wattery) along with some white frothy flem.

I'm assuming it was down to the Sulfate of Iron and he possibly licked it off his paws when cleaning himself? I've read that the black may be a sign of internal bleeding but I really don't want to be getting over my head. Any advice at all?

You need to talk to your vet, and soon.
There is nobody here who can advise you appropriately.
I'll leave the thread open so that you can update it following obtaining veterinary advice, as it may be useful for others down the line.
    Thanks,
