Hi, I am currently living in an apartment where previous tenants had a pre pay meter.. I was thinking of switching to DD billed electricity and noticed the fixed price option electric Ireland have.

How do you sign up for this or do we have to be electric Ireland customers? How does the fixed priced billing work and is there a minimum contract involved? Thanks

    Hi Laura_A,

Thank you for your interest in our equaliser (fixed monthly option).

We would need to establish a pattern of usage for your electricity before we could set up an equaliser. We would require for at least three bills with Electric Ireland to have issued before this could be set up. There is no contract required for an equaliser, but should you close your account or cancel your equaliser the amount on the account would be due immediately. The amount of the monthly payment would be fixed for a year. At the end of the year, the amount paid would be compared to the total electricity consumption in your property for the same period. This would then inform us whether the equaliser needed to be increased or decreased.

As a new customer, you may be eligibile for discounts if you choose to pay by direct debit or equaliser. Any price plan would be subject to a terms and conditions such as a fixed term contract. You can view all of our price plans here.

As we are unable to take bank details here through Boards.ie, we would be unable to register this for you, but you can sign up on the link provided or alternatively you can call our colleagues in the Sales department on 1850 305 090 (8am-8pm Monday - Friday and 9am-5.30pm Saturdays).

We hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Aoife
