I did some "training" there with Blue Moon beer but as I really really like the Blue Moon I don't wish to taint it by association with puky vomit feel belly :)

    Bottles or cans
    355ml or over
    5% ABV or over

Folks, on this 355ml or over thing. Where I am almost every bottle and can available is 333mls or 500mls. Wasn't there some confusion about US measurements at one stage? Their 'ounces' being different to ours or something.

Yeh there was confusion over the 12oz on Moosehead, but I wasted a bottle last year to measure it out, and it was exactly 355ml, so it's 100% legit. If in doubt, go with Moosehead!

I'm going to revert back to James Boags this year. 375ml, but the far nicer taste, and easier skulling nature of the beer, makes up for the 20ml extra per bottle.

But in Europe, at least the bit I'm in, there are no bottles between 330 and 500. Maybe an odd one at 400, I don't know. Certainly haven't seen anything else.

Not sure where you are, but in Ireland it is very easy to source Moosehead, so nobody really has any excuse for drinking pussy beer. :)

This event originated from North America and the rules were standardized at 12oz and 5%, which translates to 355ml. They have made an allowance for Aussies that they can use 375ml and 4.8% due to the lack of 355ml bottles there (most are 375ml down there).

    Ahhhh, the mixed messages...

The upside is more beers to "study" pre- event..

Lots of American craft beer comes in 355ml cans, if you are near a big off licence they should have plenty

No shortage in Ireland, and plenty in europe too. Just look for the American/Canadian offerings (though not those ****ey beers produced in Ireland, like Bud, Coors etc.).

OK time to apply some beer-peer-pressure. I've put a table together of individuals who have (or may not have) expressed an interest in competing Saturday week.

    1) Remove yourself from the table if you are not competing.
    2) Add yourself to the table if you are competing.
    3) Update your PB and predicted time.
    4) Don't fcuk the table up.
    5) Get swilling.

    .

PB is about 7.42 I think but it was just around a field and we opened the 4 (Blue Moon in my case) beers before the start.

Struggled with the gas pressure then so with unopened bottles it will be very difficult to avoid a penalty lap.

Aiming for 6.52 which is very ambitious but sure you have to try

Hahahaha that PB doesn't count. You can't be opening all the beers at once like that and letting the gas out. Such carry on at Nationals will result in a 2 year ban! :)

Surely the just around a field part was a greater offence? :p

Peter, I've re-entered your info here. Can people remove the quote tags when posting on the table.

I don't anticipate a PB. I never seem to excel on the cinder like I did on proper tracks in Melbourne.

Anybody "withdrawing" due to injury remember that this is primarily a drinking event. You can still walk it and pick up your shiny finishers medal. People do that in marathons anyway. ;)

Sorry Hannibelle Smeeth here. I'm out. Got another offer which involved a steak and pepper sauce, so I'm not sorry really. It was a no brainer lol. Enjoy the evening all!

Sorry to hear that FD :(

Have tested my beer and I'm happy to stick with it :D

Also my coach insisted on 5 burpees as well as some jogging on the spot but I think that was just an underhand attempt to make me spew :)

Two super 400m races there. Gregan just held off Craig Lynch and David Gillick with a 46.28. The first 6 runners were under 47, in far from ideal conditions. In the women's Sinead Denny pipped Phil Healy in the final 15 metres or so.
