Power Clean + Hang Clean + Jerk:

    (72/1+1+1)2, (84/1+1+1)4

    Clean Deadlift:

    85/5, 105/5, (125/3)4

Dropping the SLDL in favour of these. I feel like the constant tension from the SLDL is a bit too much for the aul QL injury so hopefully these will be a little easier on it. I feel it was the eccentric part of the SLDL that was the worst bit so I can basically cut that out by doing these instead. Was in a pretty rough state with a spasm in it yesterday, putting socks on was an absolute mission! Feels a good bit better today after going to town on it with a hard plastic roller.

Jerks are awful since the back spasm. I'm switch back to three days a week instead of four for the foreseeable. Dropping the Saturday session as it will get in the way of watching the rugby.

Pretty happy bout those power cleans. I figure my power clean is around 85% of my full clean so to power clean 110kg is a very good sign, especially in February.

    Friday 24th of February:

    Snatch:

    (55/3)2, (65/3)2, (74/2)3, 78/2, 80/2

Tech was a bit ropey on some reps.

    104/1+1, 111/1*

*borderline power clean, definitely not a full clean but I'm not counting it as a PB power clean. Hopefully it'll be there next Friday.

    Power Snatch + Snatch:

    (55/1+2)2, (65/1+1)2, (74/1+1)3, (78/1+1)2*

    *Probably didn't power these

    Clean & Jerk:

    (74/2+2)2, (86/2+2)2, 98/2+2, 104/2+2, 110/2+2, 114/2+2 PB

Not the prettiest but I'll take it

    Squat:

    80/5, 100/5, 115/5, (130/5)4

    Snatch Grip Press:

    (30/12)3

    Good day today!

Was looking back over my logs there yesterday and I actually have a way to go to catch up with my previous bests for sets of 5 in the squat. Back in 2014 I managed to get up to (140/5)3 @ 82.5kg body weight which I was actually surprised at, didn't realise I had gone that high. I'm essentially back doing the same squat routine now as I was then which is the Texas method, albeit slightly altered. I reckon I can get (140/5)3 in three weeks time and more optimistically (150/5)3 in the next 6 weeks. Time will tell I guess. The power clean will still be a big focus over the coming months as well. 120 by the mid point of the year would be really nice.

    Friday 3rd of March:

    Snatch:

    (55/3)2, (65/2)2, 74/2, 78/1+f, 78/2, 82/2, 85/2, 88/1, 90/1, 92/f, 93/1 PB+5

Straps used from 82 onward but happy nonetheless.

Power Clean + Clean + Jerk:

    (74/1+1+2)2, (86/1+1+2)2, (98/1+1+1)2, 104/1+1+1, 108/1+1+1, 112/1*

Probably borderline power clean, better than last weeks 111 but I'm not gonna count as a PB.

    Squat:

    80/3, 100/3, 115/3, 130/3, 145/3, 155/3, 160/3 PB+6

155 was easy peasy. 160 good first two reps and a slightly shitty third which was mainly down to losing rhythm.

    Snatch Grip Press:

    (35/8)3

12 weeks until the Leinster open. Changing the squat plan from what I laid out a couple of weeks ago. Going to stretch things out a little so now the goal will be to squat (147.5/5)3 during week 8 (this is week 1).

Ok training session but was feeling a bit sluggish. My pull is very slow judging by the videos so need to work on that.

Bit lazy with the logging but I'm still training away. Highlights from this week were:

    Snatch: 87.5/2 PB+2.5kg
    Clean & Jerk: 115/2+2 PB+1kg
    Squat: (135/5)4 and (150/3)3

I may have power cleaned 112.5kg as well but I'm not certain enough to count it as a PB. Should have videoed it, oh well...

Right so, let's blow the dust of this log.

    Monday 1st of January 2018:

    Power Snatch + Hang Snatch:

    (60/1+2)2, (70/1+2)6

Power Clean + Hang Clean + Jerk:

    (77.5/1+2+3)2, (90/1+2+3)5

    Clean Deadlift:

    120/5, (127.5/5)4

    Squat:

    80/5, 100/5, 120/5, (127.5/5)2, 127.5/10

That's probably as heavy a set of 10 as I ever done.

    Chins: bw/8,8,6,5
    Dips, (bw/10)3
    DB Shrug (35/15)3
    Back Ext. (bw/25)3

Hit an unexpected power snatch PB on Saturday with 85kg. I also did 90kg but was a bout an inch or two below parallel. Hopefully that means the 100kg snatch is just around the corner.
