Bad start for 'The Rodgers' but I am reveling in the reaction from Celtic fans. :)

Focking hell thats shocking for Rodgers amd Celtic. 'Lincoln Red Imps'? Gibraltar? What?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,068 ✭✭✭Tipsy McSwagger

Delighted Skrtel has finally gone, I really hope Mignolet & Moreno are next.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭mosstin

Having just seen the result, Ojo could yet be a season saver for Rodgers! :D

His game would probably develop better in Gibraltar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭mosstin

    ENERBAHCE .

    He had one job.
    Same olde Skrtel then ..

You'd have imagined it'd be the vowels he'd have covered up.

Rodgers has said its not embarrassing result. He won't last til Christmas at Celtic the spoofer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,799 ✭✭✭corwill

A LoI side would be embarrassed by that result. 'Kin hell.

Do you mean if they only scored one against Celtic?

The Celtic manager said that wasn't an embarrassing result.

If he was played in his right position you might change your mind very quickly about that.

I didn't say he was crap,I just said that he will be well down the pecking order in terms of Klopp's preference (in my estimation) this season. He would be behind Sturridge, Mane, Origi, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho for a place up top, and possibly not ahead of Ojo either.

Enrique is gone already,Benteke won't be short of suiters but I have a feeling he'll stay(based on nothing...just a feeling) and I really don't know who'd take a gamble on Balotelli at this stage. He's a likeable manchild but not a footballer any more. Pity.

Had a similar feeling. I really hope we keep Benteke. It has nothing to do with the image below

So if Sakho and Matip are going to miss the start of the season then it's Lovern (not good enough and will be gone next summer) and who else ?

It'll also take those two boys a few games / weeks, when fully fit, to be up to speed.

Not great to start the season without our first choice centre back pairing.

    What's the problem with matip

I read last week that he has a problem and will likely miss the start of the season. I'll try and find the link but I'm not great at that kinda thing.

Edit - can't find anything now so maybe I'm confusing him with somebody else. Sorry if I've remembered this incorrectly.

Just read there on FFS he had a screw taken out of his ankle a couple of weeks back and klopp was saying that's why he lost some aerial challenges against tranmere.

This is what Klopp had to say after the game on Friday -

“..he had a little surgery in the break. He had a screw in his ankle and they had to take it out because of an older injury, so a little bit of infection and only two weeks in training. You could see in the first half that he couldn’t jump, which is actually his big strength. He lost one or two headed challenges. You see in preseason, that’s okay, that’s not okay and you work on it or you ignore it, whatever.”

I got confused and thought the surgery was yet to come.

    Preseason fixtures are mental

13 July vs Fleetwood Town (A)
17 July vs Wigan Athletic (A)
20 July vs Huddersfield Town (A)
28 July vs Chelsea v (USA)
31 July vs AC Milan (USA)
    2 vs Roma (USA)
    6 August vs Barcelona (Wembley)
    7 August vs FSV Mainz 05 (A)

That is an insane fixure list. Is Klopp going to split up with Buvac to manage the games? Or theyre just going hell for leather?!

After the above, a week till Premier league returns
    14 August vs Arsenal (A)...

Most of the games themselves will of course be borderline training sessions, but the amount of traveling alone is bound to be pretty tiring!

Surely the Barca and Mainz games are going to have 2 separate squads...right?

That Barca game will be tough regardless...only a day or two after getting back from the US. I can barely tie my shoelaces for a week after with that jet lag, let alone play a reasonably high quality game of ball.

Yes, it's very light, said so myself a few times, unless he thinks Gomez and maybe even Ilori can cover. Suppose that's disadvantage of 4 experienced CB's like we had, the young lads don't get much of a chance to get a look in.

Soon enough, Ian Ayre will leave his post as chief executive and although global recruitment specialists Spencer Stuart are being used to search for his replacement, there is currently a feeling within Fenway Sports Group that Billy Hogan, Liverpool’s commercial director of the last four years, will end up being appointed as Ayre’s successor.

.@mterstegen1 serà el porter titular del @FCBarcelona_cat en totes les competicions http://goo.gl/IuXHVH

Ter Stegen told he will be starting keeper for Barca for all competitions next season.

    https://twitter.com/e3_barca/status/752845016666628096

He would have been a fine signing for us but at least the links to signing him may disappear now.

Have we been linked with Will Hughes of Derby yet this window, I'm kind of missing the routine of links with him and Arda Turan:rolleyes:

Well the squad gets back from the states about 10 days before the season starts, and a week before the last fixtures and the league starting. The Mainz game will 100% have different players to the Barca game, although I suspect Klopp will be at both. Barca will have the main bulk of the squad presumably, and be reasonably close to our starting team vs Arsenal I'd suspect.
