    I see this is described as her "debut single" but she got to perform something else on The Late Late Show three years ago : that's a lot of free promo on the state broadcaster for an unsigned artist.

    If there was any doubt before there certainly isn't now. RTE is a closed club that looks after its own. Talent is not a requirement. RTE touts itself as a public service provider when it actually is just a mouthpiece for the civil war parties and a hotbed of blatant nepotism. Withholding the RTE tax is a legitimate form of protest. It is not a public service. It offers no value for money. It should be starved to death.

    THE debut single of Gerry Ryan’s daughter is being ignored by her late dad’s former station 2fm, it’s been claimed.

    Bonnie Ryan’s song I’m Out debuted on the Ray D’Arcy TV Show two weeks ago. And it has been promoted with a series of high-profile interviews. But the song from Ryan’s 23-year-old daughter has so far clocked up just one play on his old station 2fm.

    Although Bonnie’s first single is not due for release until May 20, it’s normal for radio stations to receive a single two to three weeks before release.

    A source close to Bonnie said: “Everybody at RTE has been very supportive but at this stage we would have been hoping for more play on 2fm.”

    yes they should use the license fee to promote the daughter of an ex member of staff. they should also use it to promote any bukes written by staff for their own gain
