I was researching The Irish Volunteers of Fingal 1916,and came across this excellent organisation, founded to assist voluntary organisation's and those seeking to volunteer their time ,effort experience etc to their community.
The County and for that matter the whole country would not run it's self without these unsung hero's,who give so much to their communities, the group's,and people they devote their free time too,all too often without proper acknowledgement and thank's,but at the end of the day, we would all be lost without them.

The incredible volunteers that are the R.N.L.I , rescued four swimmers in difficulty off the coast of Skerries this morning.
The near tragedy occurred when 4 swimmers were caught in a rip current were unable to get back to shore.
It happened between Red Island and Colt Island, the Skerries lifeboat was on the scene in no time and the rescue helicopter was standing by over head.
I seen the helicopter about 12 coming back over Lusk, but it was only later I seen the account of the rescue on breaking news, thank God all 4 were pulled safe from the water with only mild hypothermia.
I got caught in a rip current in Jersey once, frightening ,put me off swimming in the sea,but again out thank's to our brave local volunteers.
