Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I have A Suzuki Ignis 04. It's a great car, I've had it over a year, flew through the NCT etc but the last week once i hit 4th or 5th gear, foot down to the mat, it revs to 5000 and doesn't go any faster. What could it be? Clutch? It doesn't seem to happen while on the motor way . It happens more when trying to over take on a country road.. thanks

    Probably the clutch.

However, trying to gain speed in a high gear by pressing the accelerator pedal is a bad idea. Change down to a lower gear.

To check your clutch: face the car up to a kerb. Wheels at kerb, car stopped. 1st gear, try to drive up over kerb. Problem? Clutch issue.

Similar test: driving in 3rd gear, press accelerator. If engine revs, but no increase in speed - clutch issue.

Do not ask the engine/car to speed up if the engine speed is low...

    Not your ornery onager
