Tyre recommendation

Hi all,
looking for a tyre recommendation for a new model Ford Mondeo. The original tyres are Michelin Primacy 3, and the size is 235/50/r17. Front tyres are approaching replacement time at 18,000km. Am I restricted to picking the exact same size? Any recommendations on what the best tyre to pick as replacements? Would generally go for premium brand tyres.

Coopers are a very good under rated tyre and very reasonable.

I'd stick with the same size. Unless you are a hard driver any of the main brand names will be more than up to the job.

If your looking at budget tyres then Kumo are at the upper end of the budget brands:

I can vouch for Kumhos. I have a full set on my car. I'll be replacing the front 2 next week with 18k miles done on them. I'll be getting 2 more kumhos. Having said that, I would put brand names on if I had the money.

If you like the tyres you have now I'd just keep with the same brand/model.

Michelin CrossClimate, possibly cheaper than the ones you have and suited to the Irish climate. I think they should probably fit these on new cars.
