    Hey,
My mother changed from BG to EI on pre pay gas however she has started receiving bills in the post? Be it they are for a small amount (€3.51) but the bill make absolutely no sense? How many can someone owe money for a prepay service?

    Hi Miike,

    Thanks for your message.

If your mother has a Pay As You Go gas meter at the property then she would not need to pay an additional amount to her Electric Ireland account, as you are correct, because she is paying for her consumption directly through the meter. However, Electric Ireland Pay As You Go gas customers are issued with a bi-monthly statement in order to show the customer the amount of gas they have consumed at the property.

If your mother were to look at the back of the statement there is a section titled 'Your Gas Usage'. This section of the statement will show the number of gas units used during the set period.

We hope this helps. Should you have any questions please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Brige
