Ban from Politics Cafe...

I today received a ban from Ancapailldorcha for something , as usual with bans, 'non specific', effectively, 'U're not toeing 'FG party line'

In fairness to Him (I think It's a male, apologies if U're not), it was for 3 days, however I'm intrigued how he, and the 'Adminj/Moderator team' can square my rather inance & harmless comments with Quote #1318 by Armani Jeanss in United People thread which claims
"He's (that's me) is nuttier than Squirrels ****e'

Does that not count as 'uncivil'? Where's the respect U blather on about towards other members in Ur forum 'parameters'?

Interesting too how in the same thread,another member seeks to clarify my use of text speak, whatever that is,and his need to have a word with a Moderator about it, yet says nothing about what I have been referred to as above.....

Ancapailldorcha banned you from Politics General, not the Cafe. I see that you have several bans active at the moment, which one are you contesting and have you sent the moderator a PM as per the flow chart above?

don't ask me HOW I managed, but I sent ,as I thought was the relevant Admin/moderator (but turned out to be 'Mr.Boards himself', the chief person, by the name of 'Dav') an appeal

He was ,given his time constraints, extremely courteous , patient & professional, but said he'd a lot to be doing OTHER than getting involved in appeals etc etc , suggested I go down the route outlined above,but his last line was effectively 'Good luck,Moderators don't like their judgement being questioned!!' and having read other comments about appeals from individual posters and, don't ask me HOW, managing to get a list of this weeks bans and the 'bastard table', decided to leave the bans lie....the first is up today....

The ban I received from ACD, I clicked onto the 'appeal here' on the message I was sent by him/her,wrote the above message and assumed it would be going to him/her, and not getting U, OR anyone else involved .....

May I suggest in Ur new members section U give a 'list' of the type of bans available, their duration , but also something I never heard about, an infraction, and make new members aware of them..of course there HAVE to be rules, but rules apply equilaterally, to EVERYONE...and to say something harmless, while being referred to as I have been in the Thread I mentioned above, shows a double standard, but especially the complete lack of RESPECT & CIVILITY mentioned in almost the first line of General/specific forums.

I'm only got involved in Boards due to a member of one of the FB pages I'm an admin on bringing my attention to it, but I notice the SPECIFICITY U have gone to great pains to name some...U obviously have a problem with sicko's with Child Porn (they should be reported to the Gradai, never mind Admin/Modulators), but also nudity....I'm surprised the reference to anorexia postings ,but thankfully , I haven't had many of them....and if U want to buy meds on-line, that's easy enough to uncover...with the need for prescriptions,costing €60 for a Doc visit, then the medication itself, there are tens of sites where one can buy generics on line

Are you appealing your ban from Politics Cafe or Politics (General)?

Have you sent a PM to the mod who banned you before you started your thread here?

PMing Dav is not how you go about appealing a ban. Per step one of the flow chart above, you must PM the mod who banned you and discuss it with them. If they refuse to lift the ban, post back here and I will look into it for you.

As i tried to say , I have NO IDEA HOW i managed to PM Dav...who's probably as puzzled as I am at receiving a PM !

As for the complaint about #1318 on the United People Thread,that's the work of 'Bulbous Salutation', and not Armani Jeanss, who I apologized to for incorrectly naming him, and my apologies to U also for having to get him involved

Perhaps if U had a facility whereby banned Posters could SEE threads, but not comment on them, and not rely on others to get the information for them,it'd stop such occasions happening in future?

Tubbs - if you wish to contest your ban and only your ban then please follow the graphic at the top.
Posts here need to be on topic and to the point and without any text speak whatsoever, threads with a preponderance of text speak are a nightmare to read and will just incur action.

If you have a general complaint please contact the cmods for the relevant forum provided you've already tried discussing with the mods, and if you still can't reach agreement have a look at the Help Desk forum - but again as with ALL forums here make sure before you post or create a thread you read the local charter.
