Pension Cost to Employer

    Hi,

I currently contribute to a PRSA monthly which my employer pays nothing towards. I'm aware of the tax benefits to me as an employee for contributing, but was wondering if anybody would know what the cost benefit to an employer is versus the same amount in salary - for example, if the employer was willing to contribute 1000 annually, would the cost to the company be less than giving a 1000 pay rise?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Yes they'd save employers PRSI.

They'd get that whether it was paid through payroll or into a pension.
