Still spot on through 3200m. She looks unreal.

She'd definitely do it in better conditions.

Yeah a better night for scores alright - ragging I didn't pick Semenya though and Cheruiyot didn't run in the 800m leaving me with 0 there.
Four meeting records all the same for my team and annoyed that Edward's wont count due to wind. Rough calculation of 168 points.

Quick question Merrit was my team captain and he won and got a meeting record is it just 30 points for him or does it double to 60 for MR?

Definitely, think it's only a matter of time before she does. Incredible running all the same.

60 for a captains meet record.

Woohoo that's what I wanted to hear!

This is going to be a high scoring meet anyway with the relatively soft meeting records.

Definitely a high scoring meet with 10 meeting records. You were right a quick calculation means someone who picked nine winners with meeting records and captains bonus could earn 300 points. But the chances of that

Got 250 I think this evening. I was miles behind after missing last week but that gives me a bit of hope of getting back into it.:)

Decent evening here too but sounds like you'd need that just to keep in touch with the rest of you lot. Amos in the 800 was the big disappointment but that race was so hard to call. Think I'll stick out of the men's 800m in the future. Can be a bit of a lottery and the depth of quality is so high.

Other than that, 6 wins and 2 second places with a smattering of MRs including the imperious Ayana as my captain :D

I think I managed to limit the losses in Eugene. Rome's up next tomorrow. I just went with the favourites, apart from Birech. He was so good for me last year and I'm afraid that dropping him now will ruin his confidence (or, worse, he'd win if I didn't pick him). But Kipruto's pedigree is in a different league - he's probably the future of the event. Looking forward to Ayana, anyway.

Had 8 winners tonight with only Malchowski letting me down with a 6th place finish.

Ayana is getting close again just missing out on the world record. she has to break it soon surely.

So i got caught out by the quick turnaround between Rome and Birmingham.

Is it possible to setup email notifications or anything?

Don't think so but if you find a way, let me know.

I just barely missed out on winning the signed singlet for the third time in 2 seasons. Some day!

This is where the Fantasy League gets really challenging! Birmingham was a bad one to miss out on - with all the MRs, 200+ points was there for the taking.

I don't know anything about email notifications though - I think Stockholm DL has an early closing window because they have a pre-programme on the day before.

I know, I was cringing watching all the MR come flying in.

Still scored higher than Shanghai without setting a team but a lot of points left on the table I think.

Well, you could just look at the remaining fixtures and set up your own notification in Google Calendar or similar ;).

Not a great one in Birmingham for me without being completely disasterous. Originally had Kirani James and Niyonsaba in my team but then swapped them out for some unknown reason. Kendra didn't let me down as captain even if her performance wasn't quite as awesome as in Eugene.

Think I might just hire a personal assistant.

That is the dream. A PA and a massive inheritance to spend the rest of your time training, chillaxing and checking form for the Diamond League Fantasy League

Some week for you this week alright. Leap frogging me in to second place and breathing down Sacksian's neck now, who is looking nervously over his shoulder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,896 ✭✭✭Sacksian

It's my road relays "control from the front while leaving enough for a kick" strategy...also, I'm not looking nervously over my shoulder; I'm just a bit weirded out that someone's breathing down my neck!

And I guess I'm out of this fantasy thing.

Seem to close the transfers option really early and not open up particularly quickly after an event. I see no reason why transfers should not be allowed up until the first event starts (or even up until the athletes you are transferring have started).

If I remember correctly, the key to success at this is:

    a) remembering to enter a team ahead of the deadline

    b) being jammy with your team even when you do forget to update it.

Hmmm...I failed to read my own posts and forgot completely about this. I blame Portugal-Iceland. I haven't looked at it in any detail but it would also appear that I have *not* been jammy with my team selection. While this is still consistent with my 2016 sit-in-then-move-to-the-front-followed-by-sitting-back-in-and-finally-kick racing strategy for the remaining DL events, I face the points equivalent of kicking ineffectually while 800m behind in a 1500m race.

Fingers crossed that some of my team will be late additions to the programme and break diamond league records in events other than their own specialist discipline.

Might make things more interesting anyway. You've got a fairly decent lead so can at least afford one minor slip up. I, on the other hand need all the help I can get.

In another analogy, I'm in the last 200m of the steeplchase, 30m behind and hoping for a fall on the water jump to get me back in to contention but even that might not be enough.

It might not be too bad, hard to see many meeting records here and you have a few in I think which will limit the damage as well. A few slip ups from the favourites and you might not be too far behind. You've got Lavillenie, Perkovic, Spencer and Edris in.

Managed 2 first's and a third so a bit of damage limitation at least. Tinsley DNF didn't help though.

Tight at the top now. It was a toss of a coin between Jebet and Harrison for me but chose the wrong one. Not a great night for fast sprint times. Also expected Laura Muir to do better after her mile race last week but there you go.

Big break now so would have been nice to have the top spot going in to the proverbial Winter break :) Could go any way.

No wonder people miss setting their teams. Next DL is on Friday (15th). Can't update your team until 7/14/2016 1:33:00 PM(UTC). I'm not sure what exact time that is but its the day before and past experience shows that you can't update your team on the day of the event.

It's a very short window really. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to amend your team right up until the start of the race in question or at least up until the start of the meeting.

Anyway, don't forget to update your team on Thursday.

After missing Stockholm through stupidity, I haven't been doing too badly in the last couple of meets, but can't compete with KU's relentless consistency.

I thought Hassan was just going to move past Laura Muir on the last lap in the 1500, but Muir really is a gutsy 1500m runner - actually gutsy is a bit weak for what was a great front running performance. The WR was a bit special too - Kendra Harrison's speed between hurdles was incredible.

I am going to need a few selections to come off today and in the last few meetings.

Diamond League kicking back in to action this Friday in Doha.

I've set up a new league for this year for anyone interested.

    Code is below:

    3091815

God, its tough picking a team with no real idea of form for most. Crossing my fingers on a lot of my choices except for Kenny Harrison. She never lets me down :D

I picked my team yesterday too. This year, my main aim is not to miss any of the deadlines; it's a surefire path to victory. (And well done on the 800m pb the other night btw!)

Yea, that is critical. Having a good knowledge of the weaker meet records, also essential. :)

Did you win this last year? I seem to remember you overtaking me at the very end with an impressive final kick but maybe I just held on.
