Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And you have still to actually get to the part where Mexico invades the USA.

You haven't told us how.... or why (stopping illegal immigrants is not a reason).

a simple question for you to answer; What does the Mexican declaration of war look like?
What will it give as its reasons for its war.... (and subsequent crushing defeat).

    Reasons for Mexican war

    • US persecution of Mexican people, culture and way of life.
    • Repeated attempts by the US and Washington politicians to strip citizenship rights from Hispanic Americans (namely the Arizona law that imposes tough penalties on illegal immigrants and deemed by some in the US as unconstitutional)
    • Trespass into Mexican territory by illegal gangs operating on both sides of the border.
    • Ending of the drug war. Mexico is committed to eradicating the continued growth of the Drug cartels. American policy is undecided. Massive amounts of money, lives and resources have been placed into border control, DEA with minimum impact on the sell of drugs.
Given the state of play Mexico could interpret a post Obama presidency as a hostile anti Mexican northern neighbor and begin greater cooperation with Venezuela, Cuba, Argentina and so on. Mexico might seize the opportunity to reclaim areas within the US which were lost to it during the Mexican-American war.

Now Mexico does have claims to American territory since according to the treaties that were formed at the time large tracts of the US had large Mexican presence many of whom still have links to Mexico and since the US has become increasingly hostile to a huge segment of the population these Hispanic peoples might support Mexican claims to jurisdiction over Texan, Californian and Arizonan lands. Mexico would have supporters within the US who would be happy to see Mexico re-assert her long lost pride in protecting the Hispanic peoples of the North American continent. Both the US and Mexico have a long history of immigration from across the world.

Something of a contradictory assertion there. Illegal immigrants are by their nature in violation of the law and unlikely to be afforded rights protected by the Constitution.

I'd be fairly surprised if Mexico was eager to engage in a war with the US, given how the previous ones have gone for them.

A far more likely scenario is Mexico facilitating a greater presence for US SOF operating across the boarder to combat the cartels, something that would be beneficial to both countries.

The last war was an unfair affair since Mexico was divided and in economic shambles. US took advantage of Mexican vulnerabilities to claim ownership of vast swathes of Mexican lands, to be honest the circumstances of that war was Texan succession from Mexican Empire. Today we have international laws and Nations that violate these provide a pretext for wars. We have legal wars and illegal wars. The US Mexican war could be construed as a defense of Hispanic peoples.

Noble of the Mexican government to be so concerned with the plight of people from those disparate Hispanic lands. Perhaps the US should take advantage of the social and economic issues currently plaguing Mexico. Texas and the the other south western states seem to be doing alright these days.
