Light dog food

Would anyone have any recommendations for a good light dog food?
My uncles/my part time dog struggles with her weight, on any 'normal' dog food she just seems to balloon. She's been on hills metabolic which worked but was far too expensive for what it was, and is currently on a select gold light (maxi zoo brand) which I'm happier with results and ingredients wise. It's working out fair enough on price at the moment as I have a discount working there, but I won't be there forever!
Price wise, money is tight so around €40 for a large bag would be what we're looking at. I know buying more expensive foods usually works out cheaper in the long run, but he usually wouldn't have the money at one time to do bulk buy offers and that online! So any advise would be greatly appreciated as I'd say she'll need to stay on a light food from now on!

Have you considered reducing the nuts and bulking up the dogs food with lightly cooked carrots, other veg? That's what I do if I notice my guys getting a bit porkie!

He gets bar boiled veg, carrots , butternut squash , broccoli , spinach etc.. Helps keep him a little leaner.

Veg is pretty cheap , good for the dog and helps keep them from putting on weight etc. Just an idea!

We've already been doing that, she now refuses to eat dinner without some frozen green beans mixed through! They have to be frozen and they have to be from Dunnes, the Lidl one won't do

That's funny - I favour the sliced green beans from Dunnes for Bailey lol!

There must be something good in them

What would people consider to be a low fat food? The one she's on at the moment is 8.5% fat, I was looking at redmills engage beef, its €30 for 15 kgs but it's 11% fat, I'm not sure if that'd be too high for her!

If he's fine on Hills (so has no grain issues) then maybe try Josera Profiline Solidio, low calorie and wheat/soya free - Link to food €21 a bag

That looks okay for the price anyway! She definitely has no issues on any foods, I've seen her eat plastic bags and clothes pegs and still have solid poos :pac:
Funnily enough the only good she had issues with was Real nature, gave her terrible gas. She seems to do better on less quality foods for whatever reason!
