    Hey,

I'm looking to buy a gaming PC for my son, and I would prefer to buy something made-to-order, but fully built and with a solid warranty.
Are there any such options in Ireland? How about UK?

I would prefer English language, so German websites + translator are out.

    Thanks,
    JP

Have a look at PC specialist, they are UK based and customisable to a large degree.

Are CyberPower still a thing? If so, they are another option :)

Oh! And overclockers do a configurator.

Just to add I didn't really look on the website too much but if you go with them you should buy a graphics card yourself as it will work out far cheaper than buying from them. It also just slots in so very easy to install.

Wasn't there a big hullabaloo about that custompc place?

If you cost out what your getting for the money from these guys its a bit of a rip off.
Go with overclockers or scan or someone else.

    Or build it yourself.
Paying someone else to build it for you will cost you more cash so go with a place with solid returns policy and or on site cover.

Are you totally against building your own?
Can you use a screwdriver and put a plug into the wall socket? (not at the same time ofc)
If you can and you have access to youtube, then you can likely build a pc.
Troubleshooting it might be a bit harder granted.

One of the forum regulars on here builds pc's according to your budget, talk to him.

Thanks for all your replies, it's been very informative.
I'll check the UK sites mentioned above and compare prices.

I'm not in a hurry to buy, the rig would most likely be a Christmas present; I'm just looking for options right now.

Build it yourself! (It's really not that hard at all, and better value)

I've said it numerous times and no one* ever seems to do it so I'll put myself out there. Happy to build it for you for either a slab of beer or a charitable donation to a charity of your choice. I'm located in North Dublin.

Please DO NOT PM me for advice. Get it here order the parts and then arrange a drive over one afternoon and I can fire it together for you in an hour or so. As for warranty you really don't need one, but individual parts carry excellent warranties. I spent the first half of my career ripping people off for extended warranties on computers they are PURE profit. Even the sh!te I used to sell hardly ever went wrong.

If you're worried about warranty buy the parts of Amazon from Amazon themselves, their aftercare is second to none.

*As in askers here, I'm sure the regulars have put together a few PCs for people.
