Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi guys, I have played poker with friends and a small amount online but am eager to learn more. I have got poker books from the library before but believe practice in a live situation is the only way to go. Are there tutors/groups who get together in Cork to improve their poker skills? I would not be ready for any sort of live tournament/casino based game.

    Regards,

    Youllbemine

No there isnt groups that meet up and play
You best bet to to play low stakes like 1c/2c or 5c/10c and learn good Bank roll management and tilt control before every steping inside a casino in cork

By playing standard ABC style poker you can make good money in casinos but need to require good BR management unless you want to go bust

I recommend signing up to a training site and playing small stakes online

check out 2+2 forums (its the bible site for poker)
and http://www.bluefirepoker.com/ for training purposes(there is loads of sites though)

I would be willing to talk poker dont play much anymore but did for a while in 2009-2011

Better to start with Texam holdem and be ready to learn the math and positions(math is king in poker) (again if you want to be serious)

Remember it is highly unlikely you friends will follow your path and be serious with poker(they prob just want to mess about)

so you will end up divulging in online forums and sites

twitch tv .com is good too for online streaming and watching others play
