    Hi all,

Road to Celtic Throwdown is on again this year. It is a series of events leading up to the main CPT Celtic Throwdown. This year has more events on than last year with some having all 4 main games and some only supporting Smash and Melee. This was done to spread the road to series over to multiple communities and help incorporate more of the wider community events into it. Facebook groups have more details but this is the list as of today.

April 23rd Smash the Pale (Smash & Melee)

May 7th AsOne Summer Series 1 (Smash, Melee, SFV, MKX)
    https://www.facebook.com/events/1589844551326372/

May 21st Fight House Galway (Smash, SFV, MKX)

June 11th (NHSSB). (Smash & Melee)

June 25th Smash The Pale (Smash & Melee)

July 2nd Rebellion @ Roundy, Cork (Smash & SFV)
    https://www.facebook.com/events/1578538235808784/

July 9th Breaking Boundaries (Smash & Melee)

Aug 13th AsOne Summer Series 2 (Smash, Melee, SFV, MKX)

Every road to events will place the top 8 and report the standing to me. This will take the following form:

    1st - 12 Points
    2nd - 10 Points
    3rd - 8 Points
    4th - 6 Points
    5th - 2 Points (x2 joint)
    7th - 1 Point (x2 joint)

These will cumulatively add up at the end of the series this people will be given a seeded position in the draw. This will be true for anyone who places with any points. The only exception to this is for SFV. For this game, we are taking the top 8 and giving them seed places and then offering seeded position to players with CPT points and who have registered. This is to reflect the pro tour and to give the Irish players and opportunity to have these favoured positions as well.
This series is intended to build some hype and encourage us all to travel and play other and better players. You don't need to go to all to get seeded but the more that you do the greater the chance etc. There will be a larger international contingent at this years Celtic Throwdown and we want to really showcase the Irish playing talent for all our games. If Tekken 7 was out, it would also be on the series but it should feature at CT2016.

Our hope is that you all enjoy the series, support it where you can, take part, get better (Get on my level like), bring others, defeat your foe, gain the points, and defend the island come September.

Loooool if you think people are going to read an essay sticky that has the info buried down the post. This was a good post that brought the tourney to the attention of several people who didn't know it was on, as can be seen by the number of thanks OP has.

There's no need to be derisory because you haven't properly promoted it here on boards.

4 lines and then a schedule is hardly an essay. I posted the info and got it stickied so it remained on the homepage by way of updating the forum. I not only didnt see the need to repeat the post but my "looooool" wasnt directed at the op. Just the comments after, as quoted.

Im using facebook & twitter to promote events and keeping the forum updated without spamming it plus the tools are on those platforms. This discussion forum is just that and not really a place to promote these days but saying u didnt know it was on would mean you aren't on either of those platforms, in discord, or irc. I wouldn't have thought boards was the gateway to info on events. Maybe Im wrong?

    IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT LEGACY CONTROLLERS:

The use of Legacy controllers and converters will be allowed under the following conditions ONLY.

    1) You come with the converter required and are not relying on others to have one to borrow. (Brooke or Chronus MAX)

    2) You come prepared to use PS3 sticks/controllers with the PS4 consoles then you must ensure you have EVERYTHING needed to do that. We do not provide controllers or "Just a PS4 one to sync". This includes any cabling required!

    3) You disconnect/unpair/delete any controllers used on a system after the match. Any interference during any matches for paired devices will result in the immediate DQ of that player. It is just not acceptable that you forgot.

If ANY of the above conditions are not met, you cannot be guaranteed your place and you may be disqualified. These rules are intended to ensure a smooth event and not result in constantly waiting for matches to finish with free machines, just because of a converter.

I think thread tags would help with getting it noticed.

    Maybe something like [Next Tournament]

Could add that. I could talk to the admins about getting proper tags for the forum here too, that are coloured.

    @ayjayirl

Just renaming the top sticky to "Tournament schedules 2016" would work for me.
