Unbelievable work-rate from Lallana, he's everywhere. I'd say Allen will replace him around the hour mark.

Can is playing very well, especially for a man who is only back from injury.

Milner, Clyne, Kolo, Lovern and Coutinho are also playing good.

Be great if Hector comes in, he's not nearly as good going forward but he's as solid as Clyne defensively. Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Hector back 4 sounds great to me.

Still not great in the final third in possession.

I've been a bit disappointed with Lallana in that respect.
He's the one who's supposed to be giving us quality possession and giving everyone else the time and space they need but it's all been a bit frantic.
Great off the ball though.

Can makes such a huge difference. Nobody in the first leg was taking the ball and carrying it out of midfield and lo and behold, the first time he does it we score.

It's massive when you're missing it, particularly given how erratic our goalscorers are and how many chances we need. Someone needs to create sitters and a rampage from midfield that throws them into disarray is one way to make the space to do that.

Can.Firmino & Lovren have been excellent. Origi is a loss as Sturridge has just been ok. But hopefully a chance lands to his feet & he doesn't have much pace anymore.
Benteke off the bench is a great option with the space on the wings to cross.

You'd swear by the commentators that we were 4-0 up.

Villarreal are playing really well defensively, and are unlucky to have conceded.

We look prone to the counter attack, but in general are playing well in defence and midfield.

Our counter attacks have been poor, and when Villarreal are set up in defence, we don't look capable of breaking them down.

Benteke might be a better option then one of the front 4, considering how much space we are getting wide to cross. Having said that Benteke hasn't played that role well in any game that i've seen this year. Where's Steven Caulker when you need him?

Super first half from Liverpool. Our workrate, intensity and pressing has been first class. Hopefully we can keep it going in the second half, we'll need the fans to their feet light.

Can has been superb in midfield with Lovren a rock at the back. They gave us a warning at the end of the half, that away goal is of course the worry.

yup need to be as "cute" as the Spanish teams and get him fired up.... rile them up big time.. Coutinho needs to stop taking players on and start playing the simple ball as Sturridge is making great runs and needs to be played in
