Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cat broken rib?

My cat was tearing around up and down the stairs when she accidentally ran out through the rungs at the top of the stairs and landed on the tiles in the downstairs hallway.
She didn't cry and got up and walked after a few seconds.
She doesn't seem to be in pain, is running around the place eating and going to the toilet fine and breathing fine but she has a lump on her chest that feels like a bone.
She doesn't mind me touching it but it seems to hurt a bit of you don't support her under her butt when you pick her up.
If it is a break will it heal itself? Is there a need to bring her to a vet when doesn't seem affected otherwise?
Really don't want to pay a bomb for xrays and stuff if there is nothing they can do anyway but don't want anything to happened to her either :(

Cats don't show pain like we do. The lump might be swelling. My kitten was horsing around on the steps and did just what yours did, and sprained his paw.

If it WAS a break, would you be OK with leaving it untreated? I know I wouldn't be.

If it were me I'd definitely be going to the vets. Because you can't know for sure what that lump is, or how much pain she's really in.

She's doing great thanks, the bump was just swelling. I think she might have a death wish though, for a cat she has terrible balance she keeps falling off things :/
