IMAP sync issues with brand new iPhone 6

    Old Devices:
    iPad 2 running latest iOS build
    iPhone 3GS running latest build for it

    New Device:
    iPhone 6 running latest iOS

    Email: Provided by Polish provider via IMAP.

    Symptoms:

    Mail app working perfectly on iPad and 3GS. 6 setup to receive email a week or two ago, worked fine for a day or so then got stuck "downloading 1 of n messages". Auth is fine as n will increase as mails come in so server is accepting credentials. Tried everything (killing app, reboot, verify settings, delete "current" mail etc) but no progress so deleted the account. Set it up again, perfect, syncs again.

    Circa 24hrs later we're back stuck.

    Unlikely to be server side due to other clients working fine. Can't see it being iOS related as its working on both current and old versions. So I'm stumped, personally on the Android side of the fence.

    Any troubleshooting suggestions and if not whats the best replacement app for iOS mail?
