    pros - easier to get them to walk through
    - less splashing

    Cons - one more thing to clean up after, sponge is one thing I wouldn't leave out or left in the water as it'd get degraded

    Some people put straw in the footbath, they say it works better, I hate the footbaths in the race with a passion, they're thrown in ditch here. very difficult to get the sheep into them early in the season
