Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cameroonian Patrick Ekeng died this evening after collapsing during a televised match in Romania. I can't say I've ever heard of him, but it's shocking to see yet another young man - he was 26 - die suddenly while doing something he loved. RIP

Read the reports,he may have survived but for the shocking lack of medical care in the vital minutes after he collapsed.

    RIP.

Memories of Marc Vivienne Foe come flooding back.
How are these guys not been properly screened?
    RIP

Is there a pattern to these types of incidents emerging?

Marc Vivien Foe (Confederations Cup)died at a post season tournament
Fabrice Muamba (FA Cup quarter finals) collaped late into the season (March)
Patrick Ekeng (Romanian League) died towards the last few games of the season
Gregory Mertens (Belgian League) died in April
Piermario Morosini (Serie B) died in April.

Those are the high profile incidents. If you look at the Cardiac incidents involving adult European based players, a lot of them seem to be during the back end of the season. Some are during the Pre-Season where they are going through high intensive training

I heard a while ago that footballers are running 30% more than 15 years ago. It must be a massive strain on the body to be doing that for just over 10 months a year.

    RIP

It's scarier cause I saw him playing for Cordoba last year. It's like MVF, everyone here knows who he is and they're just stuck with disbelief.
