Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool v Watford - 4pm - Not on UK TV

Bound to be a humdinger this one. Liverpool will probably make 8-10 changes from the team that beat Villarreal and can't get CL through the league, and Watford are safe from relegation, so lots to play for today.

Benteke likely to get his first start for Liverpool in ages, although Ward has been ruled out so Mignolet should play I assume rather than let Bogdan 'entertain' the crowd again. Skrtel, Lucas, Allen, Ibe, Ojo, Stewart and Randall likely to start with the likes of Chirivella, Branagan, Teixeira featuring on the bench perhaps.

I reckon 1-1 or maybe a goal in it either way. Watford probably too big a price given the likely line up for Liverpool.

Ings to score from the bench!

I can't see them putting him on the bench, although it would be nice. I reckon he will get 20 mins or so against West Brom next week though.

Good opportunity to use the squad and see some more of the youngsters.

    Watford:

Gomes; Cathcart, Britos, Prödl, Anya; Abdi, Suarez, Watson, Jurado; Deeney, Ighalo

    Subs:

Pantilimon, Nyom, Paredes, Ake, Guedioura, Berghuis, Amrabat

8 changes, but still a reasonably strong team. Skrtel/Lucas CB partnership could be, er, interesting.

In fairness, if you're going to miss a pool game this might as well be the one. Especially with that defense...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

It's hard to see Liverpool conceding a goal with that defense! :D

I think it will be a Score draw.

But usually my predictions have been wrong lately.

Great match for the kids, just go out and play, no pressure.

Our season domestically is essentially over, so why not play the kids.

    Coutinho being greedy...

Another stupid shot by Moreno. We've been better in recent minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 897 ✭✭✭NyOmnishambles

    An alright start

With that defense Watford can easily score on the break

    Flanagan is so poor.

    Ojo looking lively. Ibe anonymous

    Jesus Mason!

The ref saved Ibe from wasting that!

Coutinho doesn't have enough to be a driving force on his own and Benteke is bloody pointless for Liverpool.

Skrtel not himself at all today.

He's good for some odd reason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Not too much happening from a Liverpool perspective. Some of these players will be moved on in the summer.

He was being pernicky about a free kick - it was fractionally moving so he brought it back.

    Liverpool score. Pirlo!

    Allen actually scored!

Weird bounce of the ball if you look at it closely, Benteke heads it down slightly ahead of Allen but it bounces back towards him. Nice move, that's how you play with Benteke

  • Registered Users Posts: 897 ✭✭✭NyOmnishambles

good man Joe, he deserves that for recent performances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Classic goal. Knockdown from the big man onto a midfield runner. Benteke did well and glad to see Allen get a goal, he often makes that run only to have a poor strike.

Good thing too as Watford were happy enough to sit and break only when it was handed to them.

I can't see us keeping a clean sheet here.

I can if we score next. Watford look good going forward on the break but this is an end of season game with little on the line. Can see it petering out in the 2nd half.

Skrtel  So close to being pick pocketed.

Lee Mason should have let Ibe play on. Poor refereeing.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Skrtel won't be happy until he gives away a pen.
