Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I never said United weren't a big club I said they weren't as big a club as Juventus in response to a poster that said the only clubs bigger than United were Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona.

I've posted in lots of other threads and I fail to see how what team I support is relevant.

Michael Schumacher was involved in a charity match a good 10-12 years ago that I stumbled across on Eurosport... and he was making fools of the pros at times (and was elegant as all f*** on the ball). Always good surprises. :)

Schumi actually played football at a decent amature level in Switzerland after retirement and im nearly sure he was a decent level when younger too.

Yeah, Schumi, Trulli, Alonso, Fisichella and some others were on an F1 team that played charity games.
It is so sad what happened to Michael Schumacher.

I remember years ago there was rumours that United and Ferrari were going to team up in some marketing deal, which never happened.

Rumours that Arsenal are trying to activate Mahrez's £25m release clause.

Would adore him at United and think he would solve our RW problem.

You mean buying their best players and adding them to a team with Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla?

LOL away, man. Go for it.

I don't want to start...I'm an Arsenal fan, obviously...but looking at your own transfers of recent windows, I wouldn't be too quick to accuse anyone else of looking desperate.

I don't understand this. Why wouldn't you want Vardy and Mahrez? Kante too if you could. Those 3 spearheaded a team that won the league by 10 points. It was no fluke. Great players.

Nothing desperate about signing maherez and vardy two quality players but the football romantic in me would love to see the leicester side stay together to have a crack at champions league but i guess that aint going to happen

Would happily add Mahraz and Kante into our team right now. Getting the former would be great business for any team.

Yeah its desperation buying two of the best players in the Premier League last season

Anyway Arsenal finished second last season, they are hardly desperate.

True but they qualified for the champions league and were runners up in the premier league. I can't see them panicking.

I feel like I am repeating myself here, maybe people have short attention spans but as I have repeatedly said when I originally made the claim that Juventus were bigger than Man United in terms of pedigree I referred to trophy cabinet and current situation. From what I understand the match fixing titles were stripped from Juventus and are not included in their tally.

I think its fair to say Juventus are a bigger club than United looking at current circumstances and the trophy cabinets of both sides. Unfortunately a lot of posters here are either zealous fans of United or completely brainwashed by Sky Sports into believing that English clubs are the greatest, bestest clubs ever and that Wayne Rooney is a world class player on par with the likes of Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Pogba, Aguero.

I dont support any rivals, if it must be known I am a Bayern Munich fan and I stand by my statement that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all bigger clubs than Man United.

I don't feel the need to argue this any further, the trophy cabinet and the performances of both teams in Europe over the last 2 years agree with me.

This forum needs to call a moratorium on that "Which club is the biggest" rubbish. Makes threads utterly unbearable whenever it crops up.

I don't think there's anything desperate about Arsenal signing Leicester's best players. Those lads have the mentality that Arsenal have been lacking for the past 10 years.

The move to destabilize Leicester is also pretty ruthless. Arsenal finished 2nd and have now addressed 2 of their big issues (central midfield - Xhaka, striker - Vardy) whilst ensuring Leicester won't finish ahead of them again.

Arsenal still have plenty of needs, Vardy may recreate his wonder season, or he may not. Xhaka (who I do like) may settle, or he may not. Arsenal play a lot different to how Leicester did, which was set up to Vardy's strengths. Mahrez was an absolutely huge factor in Vardy's season also, and Leicesters in general, along with Kante. It isn't always easy to replicate a special relationship between two players who just seem to be instinctively on the same wave length.

You would have thought United had addressed plenty of needs over the past couple of seasons, but it doesn't always work out like it might look on paper.

United's fixture for 2016/17 have apparently leaked online, obviously to be taken with a pinch of salt

Anyone any reservations about Ibra's age?

Like obviously he's still banging them in but how long do people think he can go on for?

It's nuts that he's so prolific at that age.

I for one don't have any reservations on his age. He played 51 games last season, his highest ever. Scored 50 goals, his highest ever. Played 10 games in CL, his second highest ever. The way he plays the game age shouldn't be much of an issue.

Also rumors that we have offered 1 year contract with option for one more. Shouldn't be a much of risk of he can't adapt to the league. Imo risk worth taking.

Even if the leaked fixture list was right at the time, I'd say they'll change it up now to make the people who leaked it look less credible.

According to reports in Spain, a deal for Eric Bailly is near completion.

    https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/739710592303370240

Villarreal chief very much hints niBailly to Man Uted is on

Villarreal official Fernando Roig Negueroles, who told them: "There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree there will be no problems. If the player wants to leave and Manchester are interested and pay, we will reach an agreement." Marca say 'the fact is' that the operation is close to being completed for a figure of around €30m, and it sounds like Villarreal will be quite happy with their profit, and not try to slow a transfer.

No, he is an intelligent player who has looked after himself, avoided any major injury (so far), he has a great physique so for now I have no problem, he seems to be getting better with age.

The only reservation I would have about Zlatan joining Utd would be if he was promised special status like Rooney and Schweinsteiger were seemingly afforded by LVG. Though I can't see that happening with Mourinho.
