I don't believe I could ever hate United.
A great club with a great footballing tradition.
Would always watch their games when Arsenal are not playing.
I'm just surprised and shocked that they would appoint such a classless manager like Mourinho.

Seems a lot of soccer forums taking about our club.

    They seem concerned :)

I reckon United will only really be hated again if they start winning. Carry on as they have been and it could be pretty hilarious.

Ah yeah. He obviously will be, and he'll probably do well enough too.

I don't want to get caught up in the silly Liverpool style rivalries you have here on boards - Simpsons lemons and Cartman tears and all that.

It's not about rivalries - I'm not some petty 15 year old poster, you can see from my previous here.

I'm genuinely just unhappy that he's back in the league. Don't like his style, don't like his teams, don't like his interviews etc.

Fair enough, I can understand you not liking the guy. He's definitely not everyone's cup of tea.

Feel sorry for Van Gaal. Won the FA cup and the Internet is talking about Mourinho.

    :-/

Really liked the fact that he didn't bother getting involved with the lifting of the trophy, he just applauded the team.

Ive said it before ill say it again:

Jose is coming, and its going to be fecking glorious!

  • Registered Users Posts: 862 ✭✭✭unplayable

Way I see it is as follows

-Jose is coming in obv.woodward is a coward and has done it behind his back.embarrasing behaviour from the club imo

-having mourinho in theory means having mendes onside.sanches deal to Bayern when we were clearly tracking him may have moved things along.woodward panicking!

-LVG is likeable but football is awful.playing the kids is great though.will remember him for that.

-i used to like and admire and laugh at Jose but now he sickens me.he needs to change his ways but I fear he won't.

-young players like rashford, fosu mensah, shaw (remember him) and martial and key players for the future.however we do need to sign some experience.not carrick/schweini type but like a 28 year old who has won things! Eg Kroos (difficult i know)

-DDG needs to stay.new partner for smalling (Laporte, benatia, stones, varane), new Cm to play with schneiderlein, new striker with experience, new right winger! Depay, Herrera, need to do a lot more.

-goal for next season is better football, youngsters kicking on and top 4..nothing more imo

    Potential team

    DDG
Fosu M/darmian smalling New CB blind/shaw
    Schneiderlein new cm/Herrera
    New rw/mata Rooney depay(assuming a rebirth)
    Martial/new striker/rashford

    Decent match day squad imo

4 signings are crucial.ddg staying more crucial though!

MEN saying Jose Mourinho has been 'auditioning' for the United job since 2009.

    http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-jose-mourinho-news-10895109#ICID=sharebar_twitter
During that absorbing 2013-14 season, a euphoric Mourinho jumped into the crowd to celebrate Fernando Torres' winner against City, instigated the cheerleading against Liverpool, labelled Arsene Wenger a 'specialist in failure' and embarked on a victory sprint down the Anfield touchline. Moyes' United were about as threatening as Nick Powell up front, but Mourinho's diplomacy was telling.
"Today, we play against the champions," he said in his programme notes ahead of the fixture. "We don't play against a team that is 11 points away from the leaders, we play versus Manchester United."

Jose will be in heaven, he has finally got his dream job.

Someone needs to Photoshop Mourinho peeking over the top of the cup :)

Lot of good managers in the league now next year so should be a good season.

I think Mourinho will get United back into the top four and challenge for a title but he could leave a mess when he leaves in three years but you never know.

PS well done today. Three great goals even if most of the match was a damp squib.

Would seriously hope CBJ and TFM along with Rashford get entrusted with first team places whatever happens next year. After their impact this last season I'd hate to see them going back to 3rd choice. Rashford is a serious talent, every part of his game is outstanding for his age. He just needs games and loads of them

Had to laugh at SSN's BREAKING NEWS interview with Jose:

"Can you talk about the talks coming up this week?"
    "No"

    Groundbreaking news coverage.

Also lolled at Jose not being able to get the car door to open while eagerly trying to get away from the reporters

Being honest for a moment I think an awful lot of us United fans do hold some reservations of Jose coming in but the club has been in a very worrying decline over the past few years, in fact the team has been declining since we won the CL.

This is one of the biggest clubs in the world which needs one of its biggest characters to rebuild itself.

The absolute final straw for me was LVG saying our expectations were too high - We need someone now with the character, winning mentality and past experience to compete with City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid... To pass up the second chance at giving Jose the job would be criminal. There is no manager more suited to the role available tomorrow morning.

Jose is not my choice for manager, that is no secret. However if it is happening its happening and given the leak today I just hope they get it done quick. If its just Mendes ramping up pressure and destabilising again he should literally just be ****ed out of the club and not dealt with again.

I feel for Van Gaal tonight and I am disgusted they have made me feel that!

Thanks for the trophy Louis, enjoy the retirement.

But remember back to SAF... He was far from a saint at times - you have to have a certain character to manage United.

If he wants to stroke his ego there is no better place then at Manchester United and winning trophies!

Mate, it's tongue-in-cheek. After all, United is the team that made a mockery of the FA Cup by placing low importance on it in years gone by.

Regardless, looking forward to seeing how many signings they make over the summer. It's good for the league if United are competing.

So United have won a trophy.

I'm not great at maths but that I think means LVG has a 100% record in cup finals since taking over as manager. Manager of the worst United team in 20 years.

    That's pretty impressive.

It would seem that Jose is moving closer to being United manager.

Apparently the club is classless for allowing that information to be leaked.

The lack of class is something that is a concern for people that hate the club anyway.

    That's pretty delicious.

Their anger, jealousy and bile is something that as a United fan I thrive on. It is glorious.

Chalk it down chums, If Jose takes over we will get top 4 next year.

In 2018 we will win the league.

Next year won't be our year.

The year after that will be...

If you mean pulling out of it 15 years ago, that wasn't a decision made by United. As for fielding weakened sides early on, everybody does that, even teams struggling to stay in the league at times.

The FA Cup doesn't have the same glitz as it did before, but it's not Uniteds fault that it has gone that way and its still a good trophy to win.

I don't see how a club that have won the cup 11 times before today can be accused of making a mockery of the competition. If they placed it low importance on it why did they win it so much?

My point was - will Jose rise to United's standard of ethics or will United fall to his.
Anyway we'll leave it there. I wish you the best but just stay a point or two behind us.
