Interesting. This seems to have been on the cards for a while, with other banks offering incentives to come on board with them
AIB do also offer you free banking for the term of your mortgage with them(if you do your other banking with them)

I still comes a in a little short compared to the 2% that BOI offer you with the tie in for 5 years, but this move may spook them to lower their fixed rate mortages
