What would be the best way to get in contact with agriland? It's worth a try anyway to see if they'll do the poll… a Co Op called Newtownsandes here in Kerry recently got taken over by new management because the shareholders ousted the lads that were running it. Newtownsandes Co Op apparently had something like €2 million in the bank and its suppliers were desperate to get their hands on it. The suppliers called meetings, took out adverts on newspapers, local magazines and soon after they had new people running the co op, maybe we can learn a thing or two from them
But those shareholders/ suppliers were actually supplying milk to a working coop,Kerry coop is not a working coop anymore just a holding company doing nothing but being used by coop board for drawing high expenses and foreign holidays for advisory members, the plc here is the new flagship...

    The point is very valid.
We have to take back control.
Even if Kerry Co Op doesn't trade like Newtownsandes the fact that shareholders revolted is the important piece.
It shows what can be done when members follow leaders.
Something similar needs to happen in Kerry Co Op immediately after the Patronage tax Appeal is over.

But Barry, newtownsandes still want to keep their coop just different management and fair play to them for that mutiny, but do we want to keep our coop as it stands for now? A change of management is no good at this stage to achieve what? Representing milk suppliers at plc level is only a smokescreen for prolonging this set-up as if they really set the milk price on behalf of milk suppliers so its a fruitless exercise at its best.....

Dear all, this thread will be closed as there have been too many remarks about the Co-op board that are defamatory to say the least. Also, certain users despite warnings and bans still continue to post in a style they have been warned not to do. The recent re-regging to evade a ban by a user on here has also weighed the balance against this thread. Discussion of the co-op is fine but bad-mouthing and defaming the board or it's members while hiding behind an anonymous username is not.
