I have two questions about the recruitment process at Zimmer Biomet (Shannon). I already know that I did passed an aptitude test. Next step, as I heard, is an interview at Zimmer.

    So:

    - Does anyone know when can I expect a call from them about an interview? It`s been more than a month already since an aptitude test took place at their venue in Shannon.

    - And, do they call to every single one who passed that test, or not necessarily ?? I`m asking because I didn`t got any feedback whatsoever about this matter. And I`m not sure whether I should wait for it or not, and start to look for something else.

I'm unemployed at the moment, so getting a job would be much needed now. And to be honest I really count on that job opportunity.

Contact the agency that you went through.
They should have contacted you by now, I believe.

They did. Or, to be more specific, I had to go there because somehow they forgot to inform me about the results of an aptitude-test. And as I said, I`ve passed it. The agency then forwarded my CV to Zimmer. But thats it. From now on, as they told me, its me who should wait for a phone call from Zimmer about an interview. The agency is not involved anymore in the recrutiment. But it`s taking ages (month and a half already), and I`m not sure is this process taking so long? Or passing that test was useless, and I should leave my hopes and start to look for something else.

I know of someone who went through an agency recently.
The agency arranged for aptitude test & interview.
The agency was the only one who contacted him.
The agency made a job offer ....... a six month agency contract, after which time if it all works out he will be offered employment by Zimmer.

It seems the agency is messing you about ....

I know someone that went for an interview with them and they heard back 2 days later so it does seem to be an issue with the agency.
Maybe give Zimmer a ring also..

Slightly off topic but i read an article this evening stating that zimmer were going to expand but apparently there is unrest amongst the current employees about current terms and conditions. Anyone here knows what that's in relation to? ? I did hear that they lost a few workers since Christmas as other jobs came available as the economy has slowly recovered. They make huge profits there but it doesn't filter through to the workers i guess? !

Info I have heard is that they are one of the better paid workforces in the county.

Why then are people that I kno leaving as fast as possible . They say that you have to work against each other there, there was very good wages there a few years ago but I think it's very target based now... but maybe you are right ..

I am right in what I heard ....... I have no more knowledge than that, and what I heard might well be wrong.
I do not work there so don't know.

the wages arent fantastic, people are sustaing injuries, wholesale , but as long as there own factory doctor says its not work related , its grand. huge amount of aggro and stress, people who've been there for years are leaving, even though they cant afford to. the shannon plant , last year, made a profit of 237 million, yet employees get the bare minimum benefits. it seems that the money is not too bad if you're supervisor/management , but the for machine operators, particularly the polishers, the money's not worth the physical, and emotional stress.
