It feels like I must be having a stroke. People are actually thinking Donald Trump will be better for the US and the World? What about any of his personal dealings or business dealings makes you think this is a man that is fit to run the biggest economy and biggest military? How will he make the economy better? By giving everyone a tax break? How will you then pay for the infrastructure that you yourself have been saying is crumbling? There will be less money from taxes so how?

What other policies does he have? Not rhetoric, but policies? In any case, any person that is supposedly wealthy that actively goes out to exploit those that are financially desperate to better their lives should not be anywhere close to a position of authority, nevermind the highest position in the most powerful country in the world.

yes indeed the concept that someone fabulously wealthy ( from the poorest perspective ) is going to care for the poorest in society must be the biggest delusion in history

Ha, this has nothing to do with liberals, liberal values or 'the liberal media'.

Trump was never going to represent them. And it didn't matter. He could still win, just like Bush.

The reason he's nosediving is he doesn't represent conservative values either.

You can blame liberals all you want but Trumps lost the conservatives, that's the problem.

So take your shots at the republican establishment and republican leaning newspapers instead.

Yep, he has shown himself incapable of toning down his statements for the reasons outlined in previous posts, mainly he's too easy to troll with a tweet.

The Republicans thought there was a chance he might listen to his campaign team and GOP advisors, but it came out after the tape release he has been ignoring the GOP more and more as things got worse.

His support is down around 38% which in a 2 horse race says it all.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

This from the same guy that says the sexual misconduct claims against Donald Trump are lies. Even though it's Trump himself in his own words. On record.

    Totally nuts.

He hates n*ggers, Chinks, Spics, c*nts and Muslims. That's enough for plenty, and if you think I'm joking or wrong just look through this thread or on his subreddit.

His only legitimate bloc were the blue collar rust belters who felt cheated by the Republicans and the Democrat - it says a lot that they've all but disappeared from the forefront of his campaign, where they were always very much placed by his team during the primary cycle.

They've actually managed to vindicate Clinton's 'deplorables' comment from a few months back - Trump's fans turn off potential voters every bit as much as he himself does.

Why tone any of it down? If he moderated his speeches to match Clinton, he would lose because Clinton is being pushed by the media anyway. She is the establishment.

Trump could be the nicest most kindest caring social justice friendly candidate ever, loving every ethnic group and every gender and hugging everyone on camera and meaning it 100%, genuinely. And the media would still push Clinton - she is their darling, she is the chosen one.

So, Trump being no dummy, figures he can say whatever he likes because they would have trundled out the dirt all the same.

So you find it distasteful but the reality it, if it was tasteful, you'd still be supporting Clinton :) Your opinion has already been prescribed to you. Trump has to lose - that is the mantra. The media will do anything to make that happen. The only way Trump could compete with Clinton, is if Trump actually was Clinton. Any way he presents himself, he will be relentlessly attacked because he is anti-establishment, the underdog, and an outsider. There is absolutely no reason he should tone anything down. He has shown repeatedly that no matter what he says, the media attacks on him stay, and the media support of Hiollary stays.

Clinton could shoot someone on the street and she would get away with it. She could have Trump assassinated and she would still get positive bias support from the New York Times.

When the GOP candidate can alienate Fox News, there really isn't much point blaming the media.

You mean exactly like the Donald says he could?

'I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters.'

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,087 ✭✭✭HellSquirrel

And also rubbish. No-one really likes Clinton that much. Too much mud has been thrown. If the GOP had managed to nominate anyone half-reasonable, they'd have won. This year should have been a Republican year. It just goes to show how astoundingly terrible a nominee is that Trump has managed to lose an election that should have been in the bag.

And it's not bias. It's not rigged. It's not anything but that he is too damn awful to elect to anything. Since you're (I assume) not American, it doesn't really matter to you, but if you were, I'd say you should be downright ashamed for pushing a man who, when he is losing, does his best to take down his party with him, and do as much damage to the country as possible in a fit of pique. I don't know what sort of person does that.

    Deplorable is the best word.

You may well be correct. Trump is plunging in the polls, his personal reputation is in tatters, his businesses are suffering and he's becoming a joke candidate, but its all a part of his super cunning master plan.

    No. Just. No.

Trump had this election to win. All he had to do was keep doing what he was doing, stop reacting to the slightest insult; SNL is his latest folly, and expand on his economic policies. Keep to his message and not get distracted by minor setbacks.

He had the full weight of the GOP behind him and has managed to alienate pretty much every one of their heaviest hitters. He actually had a chance because despite what you say, Hillary Clinton was not the most electable canididate. Even supporters couldn't help saying ...but... about her.

Every time he got within striking distance, he conspired to take out his own feet with one shot. Every single time, he just opened his mouth to change feet.

He could have managed the Khan family and turned it into a victory. He could have retreated from the mess that was the Miss Universe revealations, but each time, he couldn't control himself and had to, absolutely had to, take pot shots that just rebounded on him.

He absolutely, demonstrably can't control himself or his outbursts. He is petulant, thin-skinned and reactionary. All the time. These are not the character traits required of the President of the USA.

You really are bordering on lying about this at this point, given I have pointed this out to you over and over and over again.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationwide_opinion_polling_for_the_Republican_Party_2016_presidential_primaries

From November 11 all the way to the end of the primaries there were about 160 polls conducted. All but 1 (which had him in second, just 2% off first) had Trump winning.

Polls are always a lie (or at best just plain wrong)...

To the people they say are losing.

He wasn't saying that at the end of July when he was leading. Was he? Were you?

You're full of sh1t. You've posted the same factoid as if it's conclusive proof about 9 times by now.

So explain to us how the 159 out 160 the polls that had Trump winning the primaries were all wrong?

Please explain how proof that polls that were correct about Trump winning the GOP nomination can't be extrapolated to polls about the general election?
