    Lauda blaming Hamilton.

yeah. I agree with Lauda on this one. That was absolutely Hamilton's fault no question about it in my mind.
From what I could see, Rosberg had the better start off the line and then overtook Ham into the second corner; a fair enough view IMO. Rosberg went to cover Ham's attempt at overtaking him; Hamilton lost control and took both of them out of the race.
My Verdict: Absolutely 100% Hamilton's fault.

It'll be interesting to see what the FIA's decision is in relation to this.

Re the Mercs on turn 1 - I want to hear what the marshals say after the race. It's going to take some analysis and I don't think you can justify gving either driver all the blame. A knee-jerk pro-or anti-Hamilton reaction says more about you than it does about the incident, in my opinion. :o

Hate because people have a different perspective? Come on now.

Another knock for Hamilton's confidence though after being overtaken again from pole in the first few corners. It's bound to play on his mind for future starts.

Nope, it's just as it is. He's done something monumentally idiotic - a small child could have seen he'd have ended up in the grass all the time. Obviously the British media (Sky) are desperately tyring to defend him, but they did the same where the role were reversed. Other drivers had the sense to lift off. Next time he might learn.

Roaberg has a chance to really get under Hamilton's skin now, hopefully he takes it.

Regardless of fault, Rosberg had to show that he is prepared to wipe out hamilton. If Rosberg is happy to avoid all accidents, hamilton will walk past him.
Rosberg did right in not letting him past even if it meant he was going to be at fault. In this instance, I don't believe it was rosberg fault.

Both were at fault but i would blame Nico that little bit more.

Why was Nico going so slow compared to Ham?

He didnt need to defend that aggressively either.

I meant in general not just this race.

I think Brundle is mostly correct, a defining moment for Mercedes this year and maybe 2017.
It really went downhill for Red Bull in the relationship between Vettel and Webber when they crashed.

Hamilton weaves all over at the start and nothing is said. Rosberg moves once to cover a line and Hamilton takes him out and still the commentators will blame Rosberg.

Lol at Chandhok saying you have to leave a car's width, did Hamilton leave a car's width off the line? Did he ****e. But completely fan because he's a "racer".

Just on leaving a car width, only applies when making second move back on to racing line

Article 20.3 reads: "More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted. Any driver moving back towards the racing line, having earlier defended his position off‐line, should leave at least one car width between his own car and the edge of the track on the approach to the corner."

any bets on Hamilton rolling out the "if you don't go for a gap you are no longer a racing driver" line

F1 needs to cut ticket prices, shame seeing so many empty seats.

Rosberg had already moved across before Lewis got the wheel beside him. Hamilton should have pulled out and from his on board camera it looks really clear that he had loads of time to.

Fair play to Rosberg for taking no crap.

But in this case I already chimed in with racing incident

Yeah reminds me of kimi closing the door on perez in monaco a few years back. Perez kept lunging and drivers kept allowing it to avoid a crash til eventually kimi said NO and they both went out. Sometimes you have to put manners on someone even if it costs

If Mercedes decides to avoid the danger of drivers colliding and axe one of their actual drivers, why should they put another driver in who already crashed into his team mate?

    Surprised we're not on VSC.

Indeed. There was simply no way he was getting past unless Rosberg relented....something he didn't do for a change and has every right to. Hamilton went way too late for an ever decreasing gap.

Rosberg was the real winner of the incident if we believe a Mercedes driver wins the WDC again this year.

In a risk/reward situation, the risk was all at Hamilton's side, while for Rosberg if they both go out it would be no loss for Rosberg.
The chance for reward for Hamilton was not very high given the how high the risk was.

That will never beat Fernando pushing his own car back to the pits :) that's the attitude of a winner right there

Cuts to ticket prices would be good but ain't gonna happen when tracks are paying the ridiculous fees they're currently on.

From F1.com We have word from Mercedes. "It's not a clear cut... a very difficult situation for the team," Mercedes chief Toto Wolff tells the media. "But we let the drivers race and sometimes this is what happens. In our opinion we don't want to blame...

"They are both pretty upset because they know about the effort. We need to look at the pictures, look at the data, and avoid this in the future."

Massa with fastest lap. wondering is that what triggered the stops

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Cuts to ticket prices would be good but ain't gonna happen when tracks are paying the ridiculous fees they're currently on.

You are right. but they would probably get more people in which would offset the lower ticket prices and places like Barcelona ,might be full and end up generating more revenue.

Austin cut ticket prices and you could or maybe still can get a 3 day general admission for the three days and a full Taylor Swift concert included.
Bad Blood could be the theme for today's race :p

I don't remember seeing Barcelona with so many seats that are empty.

The gap reducing at some rate though. I reckon they'll catch Max in 7-8 laps.
