Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The ESB are putting some of their archive online. It is more on the nuts & bolts of electrification, good photos, etc. rather than people records. From a social history perspective (rather than a pure genealogical one) there is an interesting map which shows when the different rural areas were switched on and what was involved. It might be nice for some to know when granny got her washing machine and granddad a milking one!

My grandad was involved in all sorts of pylon madness for rural electrification! Hopefully there's something of him in the mix here!
