EI says 5.5% electricity discount for HouseholdBudgetPlan

    [font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]Paul Stapleton, General Manager of Electric Ireland was on the wireless this morning and stated that EI [/font][font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]is offering new [/font][font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]discounts to existing customers - including 5.5% electricity only redu[/font][font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]ction.  This seems to be with direct debit & ebilling.[/font]
    [font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]He went on to say that those who are on a household budget plan with social welfare and pay in the post office will get the same discount. [/font]
    [font=freight-sans-pro, sans-serif]Is that true?  It's not documented in the press release.[/font]

    Thank you for your post.

    Electric Ireland customers can now avail of additional savings of up to 8.5% year after year. This is additional to the price reduction of 6% that will come into effect from June 1st for our electricity customers. Electricity only customers can get an annual saving of up to 5.5%, while customers who have both electricity and gas from Electric Ireland can get a saving of 8.5% across both fuels. There is no contract required for existing customers and there are no exit fees.

    We can confirm that the savings are being offered to customers who pay their bills by Direct Debit and are registered for Online Billing. The offer of savings is also available to customers paying through the Household Budget Scheme with An Post.

    If you want to sign up for the 5.5% savings off your bill, you can contact our colleagues on the Sales team on 1850 305 090. They are available from Monday to Friday (8am to 8pm) and Saturday (8am to 6pm).
