Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

TMC (Traffic Message Channel) support in Ireland

I've just bought a Peugeot 508 from the UK, which has a very useful feature that uses TMC to display accidents, roadworks information etc. on the satnav display.

This worked fine on the drive back, but now over here it's not picking up any TMC channels. Anyone have any experience of this? I'm led to believe that RTE Radio 1 broadcast TMC info, but that info dates from 2011 and I'm not sure if that service is still in operation.

    Cheers!

Common enough feature on cars here to but alas we've never had the channels here.

I had actually thought they should invest in it with the recent mishaps on the m50 bringing Dublin to a standstill.

I hear you on that, having to navigate the M50 on a daily basis

Dublin City FM's Live Drive programme is worth its weight in gold, but would be nice to have integrated info available!

I got my info from here, but the info is 6 years old and I'm not sure if things have changed.

Yeah, Dublin City FM is great. They use the traffic cams and can give you a live update of delays. They also call out how long it's taking to get from one place to another rather than just saying traffic is heavy etc.

Obviously no use outside of Dublin though

Yeh Livedrive is awesome. The advantage of the TMC is obviously that is overrides any station people are listening to so even people who have never heard of Livedrive would be in the know of an accident/delay.

In case anyone is interested, the latest update on TMC in Ireland (Dublin anyway) is that it is off and will not be back on.
