Some accounts can only be operated strictly on line, but after a death, can these type of accounts be accessed by the banks by just giving then their IBAN or do you also have to have their logon details.

I'm guessing the IBAN is all that is required but just want to confirm this.:)

The bank will not ask for online usernames and passwords.

The bank will require documentation for deceased accounts.

You need full info for log in password, pan etc and you log in as normal.

Once you advise the bank of a death they will 'freeze' the account until you get probate so if you really need to make a transfer make sure you do it before you notify the bank of death.

Any direct debits, standing orders will just operate as normal provided enough money is in the account and before the bank 'freezes' the account.
