So who has any legs left after a monstrous stage 14 to win this very very steep if not too long of a mountain TT

    PW_T15_AlpeSiusi_alt-1.jpg

Can Amador or Valverde get any time back on the podum leaders...bet its not so happy round that camp tonight

Will Nibali come out fighting and get something back on Kruijswijk & Chaves

What about Chaves ..not known for his TT abilities but he very fast uphill… I am beginning to think this guy might be a future GT multiple winner

Who will win the stage …probably one of the GC favourites…But it is a power climb so we might see a good TTer (outside the GC battle) win

Siutsou, Uran Zakarin might gain back some time . Hope its not raining for Zakarin sake (and Urans)

Other riders who could go well are Jungles , Fuglsang , Pozzovivo Brambilla and Ullisi

My pick : Roglic to blast it like a mad man

    Eurosport : 1.30pm

Great review MPFGLB, don't know how this will go myself, its steep enough for pure climbers, but it is a TT. I do think that Nibali's efforts today to limit his losses may catch up with him tomorrow.

    Thanks :-)

Wonder if we are seeing abit of a changing of the guard in GT cycling with Nibali & Valverde not able to keep up with the youngsters

Of course both Chaves & Kruijswijk have done nothing hardly all year except prepare for this race. It been in their sights since last October (last May)

But I suppose you could say the same about Valverde & Uran...

I thought I read somewhere that Chaves was an above average TT'er. I remember thinking that this stage could really suit him.

He is ok..and will be on a steep climb but on the flat /rolling he is not top

He might win it if it was downhill

Roglic is a good call, the man has turned into an absolute machine.

I'm hoping for good things out of Zakarin in hope of an epic final week from him.

Not sure about Zakarin. Seems to have lost some weight so he climbs better but might not be as good on the TT

Zakarin is very young and he might be getting tired by now ...not every rider is a 3 week rider ...just ask Richie Porte or Rui Costa

You could of course say it's been in Valverde's sights for so long but you could hardly say he's done nowt all season after for one thing, yet another win during the Ardennes week. And a few other wins in a prolific as usual season also. Though I expect that wasn't your gist regarding Valverde - that he was just waiting for the Giro.

Chaves has presumably gotten plenty admiration thru his rising career but Kruijswik seemed to ride a brilliant Giro last season - and in effect much more impressive than his actual 7th place finish given he always seemed right up there slugging it out with Contador and the gang in the latter stages of the race. . . . And given how good he seemed to be maybe he's not been given enough attention till now. Partly maybe cos with those long angular shoulders he doesn't really look like a champion! - more like a worthy trier, destined to never gain the highest glory.

Added a reduced poll. If you want more names, less names, no poll, or if you think there's the right amount of names, you can say so :)

I presume we won't be seeing anybody on TT bikes?

I'd say not a chance, totally stripped down climbing bikes.

They still have to reach the minimum weight limit which none of them will have an issue with, so I wouldn't expect any stripped down bikes for this one. Cannondale have a disc on Urans bike according to a video on the Cycling Weekly website.

What kinda times we expected them to do up this hill, could the top climbers get near the 20 min mark for that distance / elevation? Especially after yesterday's efforts.

    But he is going well

MTT's are a super idea. No wheel sucking, no tactics, just you and the climb. They should be used in the TDF.

have to laugh at Sean Kelly saying ...SKY needed ot straighten him up a bit and he'd do even better !!!

NAd I can express a valid opinion on the matter
