Sony Turntable problem

    I have a Sony PS-X7 Turntable which I am very happy with except that recently for some reason I only get sound from one speaker. This does not happen with CD'S or other components. I think I may need a new cartridge but I don't know where to get one or which one to get. Can you help ? Any thoughts ?

    First of all check the wiring at the cartridge, carefully make sure all 4 connections are secure. That's a decent turntable and can take a "proper" cartridge so maybe contact Cloney Audio or HiFi Hut and ask about a budget starter cart? Carts can range from about €50 to many thousands but you get what you pay for. System dependant of course!
