    Hi guys

I'm renting a place for the past 3 years. Actually, it'll be the start of year 4 next week.

We only ever had a tenancy agreement at the start of year one.

Every year that rolled around, I expected the LL or EA to contact us and ask us if we were staying or re-sign for another year.

This never happened and now we need to move on as we've been given notice of a 325 Euro price increase in 90 days

How much notice do I have to give the EA that we're moving on?

The law also allows you to mutually agree a shorter term if it suits everyone.

It's very likely that your landlord can get someone to move in at the new rate almost immediately, so they will likely agree to this.

So as soon as you find somewhere else, talk to your LL to see if they will agree to a shorter time.

(Not having a renewed lease is irrelevant, by the way. You have Part 4 rights anyway.)

One thing you need to be very careful of is that rent increase isnt actually reasonable. There are so many people getting rent increases and on the whim handing in notice. Then they realise that they cant find anywhere to live. You need to make sure you can actually find somewhere to live before you hand in notice

When was your last rent review? You didn't mention it in your opening post but it is worth pointing out that rent can only be reviewed every 2 years now.
