I accidentally clicked on a thread flying past on the main boards homepage recent posts / trending posts advertising a fridge and it contained an image of a butchered animal carcass, dripping blood into a bowl from a bar.

I was pretty revolted and reportered and got a reply back from a mod basically telling me it's the nature of the shooting forum.

Anyway, I just don't think those kinds of images belong on threads on the boards homepage.

Maybe I'm being prudish but, I'm flagging it up and letting you look into it.

So it's grand and within T&Cs then.
    Fine.

I would have assumed "SFW" to be applicable to a major sites home page tbh. But that's just me.

As Spear has already pointed out, a site Admin has already ruled on this issue, and all Admin decisions are final.

In line with the above Admin action, this thread is now closed for the reasons stated within the linked thread.

This process is automated, so no one person has a say in what appears and what does not appear. The posts are taken from across the site.

I honestly cannot see an easy solution to this issue - do Boards.ie pay somebody to go through each post? It's not really feasible. Would the Hunting and Shooting forum agree to having "Not for the squeamish" added to all their posts just in case one of these posts appears on the main page? I'm sure you would agree that this isn't really an option.

So while I fully accept that for a lot of people that is not particularly something they want to see while eating their cornflakes, I hope you appreciate that there is very little that can be done to prevent it happening in the future other than suggesting that you don't click on thread titles from forums that contains content you may find distasteful.
